After filming Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, I realized that the economy today is much like that portrayed in the film.
Our community, much like others throughout the nation, has been hit hard by tough economic times.
This realization prompted me to want to do something, something that would benefit the community I live in, and our neighbors.
I have chosen to help the Second Harvest Food Bank, of Manteca, California, by raising food, funds and awareness to the problems facing those in our community.
My objective was to raise $10,000 and 1,000 lbs. of food.
Update: To date, together with your help, we have raised about $9,000 and 6,000 lbs. of food.
I encourage everyone to make a donation, of any amount (no donation is too small), to support the Second Harvest Food Bank of Manteca, your regional Second Harvest Food Bank, or community food bank.
